The InSpire makeover for October is Melissa Terkhorn of Fond du Lac. She is a registered nurse in a neuroscience intensive care unit. Melissa shares her thoughts on the experience in the following paragraph.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2016. I knew that cancer treatment including chemo would cause hair loss. No woman wants to lose their hair and I was going to find any way possible to remain looking like “me”. I called Step A Head salon and Julie (Patrouille) got me in right away for a consultation. She helped me find the perfect wig and customized it so it resembled my previous hair style. Most people couldn’t even tell it was a wig unless I pointed it out. This is so very important to a woman that has just lost her hair. My battle with cancer will continue into November of this year. I am so thankful to have Julie by my side to help me remain confident through this battle. She is always available for a restyle and consultation of my wig.”
Melissa chose a 100% hand knotted classic mid-length page that combines the natural looking lace front hairline for an off-the-face style. It has the cool, light comfort of a monofilament top, plus the added styling versatility of a heat friendly synthetic fiber. Melissa chose a beautiful off black that matched her natural hair color.
Daune DeVries, Independent Beauty Consulant with Mary Kay Cosmetics provided the skin care and color cosmetics. After cleansing and moisturizing with Timewise Skin Care for normal to dry skin, Melissa used beige luminous foundation. Her eyes were highlighted with pinks and purplish brown shades. She used black eyeliner and two coats of Lash Intensity Mascara. Cheeks were blushed with cherry blossom mineral cheek color. Lips were tinted with Tuscan rose True Dimensions Lipstick. She looked stunning!
