December Book of the Month

Whether or not you’re paleo-curious, already following a paleo diet, or are just looking for some seriously good eats, Ready or Not! will tempt your eyes and your gastronomic imagination. Presented in a graphic step-by-step format, this cookbook is great for beginning and advanced cooks. The recipes include pantry staples you’re likely to already have in your cupboard and fresh ingredients you can pick up at a local store. Three things that I’m planning to make in the near future, especially since my family said they looked and sounded good, are called:

  • Chicken Breasts with Ginger Scallion Pesto
  • Spicy Bacon Honey Nuts
  • Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Gluten-free eaters will find plenty of variety within the pages and if you’re looking to add more plant foods to your plate, there are lots of those recipes, too. Using slow-cookers and pressure cookers to make a fabulous dinner in a short amount of time are emphasized. Soups, sides, appetizers – this book has them all, as well as hearty meals for cold weather plus salads and grilled items for hot times of the year.
