Please give us a short description of your job and the name of the city in which you work. Is your work close to where you live?

I am a Licensed Practical Nurse for SSM Health at Home. My office is based in Columbus, about 20 minutes from my home. I spend my days traveling to the homes of clients who are not able or don’t have assess to leave their homes to receive skilled nursing services.

Provide us with your marital/family status.

I’ve been married just over 3 years. Together we have four children, 3 daughters and 1 son.

What are some of your hobbies?

I pretty much enjoy anything that involves the outside, even weeding the garden and flower beds when I get time. I don’t really have anything that I would consider a hobby unless sitting around a campfire with good friends is one. We have a seasonal campsite that we use to the max. We also try to take out the bike and try to catch some wind therapy when we get a chance. Then the off camping/riding season we do transporting and attending every sport imaginable for our children.

What was your previous experience with a fitness regimen?

Ive always been fairly active. I’ve always done a lot of walking and would do my workout DVDs at home in streaks. Trying to stay consistent at home with the DVDs was always a struggle.

What was your biggest take away from the challenge?

Accountability, consistency and implementing the right meal plan.

What was the result that you were most proud of?

Energy has been great!! The inches lost in my belly are spectacular!! 🙂

Gina’s Makeover

By Taylor Boomsma@salon 311

For Gina’s hair, Taylor did something simple and went with a straight look with some volume through the sides and back.  She then finished it off with a paste to spike up the back and a strong hairspray to hold everything in place.

For Gina’s makeup, Taylor did a full coverage foundation over her whole face, bronzer on temples and under cheek bones, blush and a shimmer hi light to emphasize her cheek bones. Taylor added a subtle smoky eye with natural pink and grey tones, added eyeliner to the top lid and finished off her look with natural false lashes.

Please give us a short description of your job and the name of the city in which you work.

At the beginning of the challenge, I was a stay-at-home mom. The last month of the challenge, I started working at Future All Stars Daycare as an assistant teacher in Juneau.

Is your work close to where you live?

About 10 minutes away.

Provide us with your marital/family status.

I am married, and I have a 6-year-old daughter and 2-year-old twin daughters.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love crafting, and recently working out at ABC has become a hobby.

What was your previous experience with a fitness regimen?

I never would stick with it. Once I would stop, it would be hard to get back to it. That is one thing I love about ABC: they hold you accountable. I had the flu one week, and my accountability coach was checking in on me to see where I was, and I totally need that.

What was your biggest take away from the challenge?

Learning about myself and the things I need, which are as follows.

  1. Accountability – I not only get that from my accountability coach, but I also get it from the other members. We push each other and make it fun! I would be lost without my 9’ers (the people in the9 AM class). They keep me coming back because it is not just a bootcamp; they are family! Everyone believes in you even when you stop believing in yourself.
  1. Change in Workouts – I get bored very easily! Every day is different at ABC, and I love that.
  1. Nutrition – I need to know what I can and can not eat. Having knowledgeable coaches and a nutrition plan really helps.

So, I guess my biggest takeaway is that I need to become a lifer of Aspire Bootcamp. It works for me,  and they have everything I need.

What was the result that you were most proud of?

I’m proud of all of it: weight loss, inches lost and increased energy. Those who have ever tried to lose weight knows how hard it is. Even losing 1 pound is a lot. It doesn’t seem like it sometimes, but then I think of one pound of hamburger meat and how much that is! I also have more energy to chase my 3 girls around.

Bonnie’s Makeover

By Trends Salon & Day Spa
204 Parallel St, Beaver Dam, 920-885-4472

Amber, of Trends, started Bonnie’s style by spraying heat block spray by Kenra which protects the hair from heat and adds hold to the curl. She curled Bonnie’s hair to give it a beachy texture and separated the curls by using Moroccan oil. Amber finished the style by spraying Kenra’s working spray to add a slight hold.

Emily, of Trends, wanted to do something a little more bold for Bonnie’s make up. Using the two faced eye shadow pallette, Emily did a dark smokey eye, finishing it with liquid black eye liner from Smashbox and black mascara. She then used Youngblood plumb to brighten up Bonnie’s cheeks and finished the look with a pale pink lip.

My job is about 20 minutes away from where I live.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy riding my motorcycle during the summer.

What was your previous experience with a fitness regimen?

I had a fitness regimen about six years ago, and I did it for all the wrong reasons. I began this challenge/lifestyle for MYSELF and kept MY visions and goals in sight. I love Jen for getting me where I am today, MIND and BODY!

What was your biggest take away from the challenge?

Numbers on a scale don’t matter. It is about how you feel and the composition of your body.

What was the result that you were most proud of?

All of it. This lifestyle change has created an opportunity for trying new things and taking on new challenges.

Thank you to InSpire Magazine, staff, and most of all, Jenny Morgan!!!!!

Nelly’s Makeover

By Trends Salon & Day Spa
204 Parallel St, Beaver Dam, 920-885-4472

Amber, of Trends, started Nelly’s hair by using hot spray by Kenra which protects the hair from heat and adds hold to the curl. Amber curled Nelly’s hair to give a beachy texture. She then spread the curls with her fingers to separate them, then used Moroccan oil to add shine and diminish frizz. Amber finished the style by adding working spray by Kendra to give the style a slight hold.

Emily, of Trends, wanted to enhance Nelly’s natural beauty and started by using Youngblood foundation to even out her skin tone. Emily then put a soft copper tone from the two-faced pallette on Nelly’s eyelids to brighten her eyes. She finished her eyes with a slate eye liner and black mascara.

Please give us a short description of your job and the name of the city in which you work.

I work at Rhodes Bake and Serve in Columbus as a utility line worker.  The line I work on produces the roll and bread products.

Is your work close to where you live?

It is between a 15-20 minute drive.

Provide us with your marital/family status.

I am married to my husband Jason.  We do not have any children, but do have our fur baby Buddy who is a sheltie.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love to hang out with friends playing all sort of card/board games.  I also love to watch movies while I enjoy some adult coloring books.

What was your previous experience with a fitness regimen?

For the last 15 years I have had a lot of yo-yo experiences with working out.  There are times where I spend numerous times a week at the gym, but it has usually faded off pretty quickly.  During these times I never had a lot of guidance as to what I was doing.  I have currently been sticking pretty strong to working out on a regular basis for the last year with lots of guidance.

What was your biggest take away from the challenge?

There are so many different workout programs and ways to workout.  There is no set way of working out that is right for each individual.  You need to find what fits your goals and something that motivates you while also being able to push you. Try something new because you never know if it is something that will end up transforming you the most. It is also extremely important to have a support system backing you especially when you have a lot of changes in your physical life.  Once others see the changes in you, they will be inspired to make changes in their own life.

What was the result that you were most proud of?

I have been the proudest of all the inches that I have been able to lose over the last few months which have been a result of all the gains I have been able accomplish from my lifting routines.

Sheila’s Makeover

By Trends Salon & Day Spa
204 Parallel St, Beaver Dam, 920-885-4472

Chelsie used Morrocan oil root boost on Sheila’s wet hair, then blew it dry using a round brush to add volume. She then used Kenra Platinum Whipped Taffy to add texture as she tousled the hair. Chelsie finished the style with Kenra working spray to add a slight hold.

Emily, of Trends, wanted to make Sheila’s beautiful eyes stand out. First, she used a sheer foundation to even the skin tone. She then used a light copper/gold tone on Sheila’s eyes and added some black mascara. Using the Youngblood eyebrow powder she accented her eyebrows to bring them out. Emily finished the look with a pale lip gloss.
