Blackened Salmon

2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and divided
4 – 6 ounce salmon fillets (boneless, skinless)

Preheat the grill or oven – broiler. Combine all the seasonings in a bowl and mix well. Brush 1/4 cup of melted butter on both sides of the salmon fillets. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the salmon. With the remaining butter, drizzle one side of the fillet. On a hot grill, cook the salmon, butter side down, until blacken for about 2 – 5 minutes. Drizzle the remaining butter and turn the fillets. Continue cooking until blackened. The salmon should be opaque in color and flake easily through the thicket part of the salmon.
