Now that Fitness Challenge 2013 has wrapped up, what are your thoughts on the entire experience?
Interesting! I usually work out daily by myself but seemed more motivated to push harder in a class and with Stacy my Personal Trainer.

What was the most difficult part of the challenge?
The “not seeing overnight results”. We all wish we could see progress overnight and then people would say they could see a change and I couldn’t see it.

Did you learn anything new about yourself during the challenge?
Yes! That you can do anything no matter what! The discomfort you feel is only temporary. I feel so much better now.

Where were you in your own personal fitness challenge before this started?
Yes I was but I needed that extra push to try new things. I had worked with different instructors and trainers with little results but Stacy motivated me and I saw progress.

How will you continue your success and have you set any long-term goals?
I will continue working out daily doing group classes at the YMCA. Ideally, I would love to get back into my senior year in high school size. I will try and stay with the personal trainer one day a week for one hour. Since I have been working with Stacy at the YMCA the results have been awesome versus my previous experience with instructors and trainers!

Now that Fitness Challenge 2013 has wrapped up, what are your thoughts on the entire experience?
I think it was motivating to the point that I want to continue losing more! It was a great experience!

What was the most difficult part of the challenge?
Eating the right foods and smaller portions was challenging.

Did you learn anything new about yourself during the challenge?
Yes definitely. The portions in restaurants are way too much and now we always bring half of it home!

Where were you in your own personal fitness challenge before this started?
I was not exercising at all before the challenge. This has been fun and motivating learning new exercises and how to do them properly.

How will you continue your success and have you set any long-term goals?
I’m going to continue to exercise at Get Fit and work with the new programs that my trainer sets up. My long term goal is to get to my 150 lb. goal and stay there!

Now that Fitness Challenge 2013 has wrapped up, what are your thoughts on the entire experience?
I’m grateful to have been chosen to participate in the InSpire Fitness Challenge. It has helped me focus on healthier food choices for myself and family. We now incorporate more whole grains, fruits and vegetables into our daily menu. I don’t want to consider this a diet, but a lifestyle change. I’m also very appreciative of my personal trainer, Shane, for the inspiration and guidance he has provided during this journey.

What was the most difficult part of the challenge?
For me, the most difficult part of the challenge was to change eating habits I sat down with our hospital dietician who provided me with great suggestions to make healthier food choices and also provided tips on how to incorporate more vegetables.

Did you learn anything new about yourself during the challenge? I have learned to appreciate the benefits and rewards of exercise! I have so much more energy and clothes that are now too big to wear. Both are great motivators to keep going back for more.

Where were you in your own personal fitness challenge before this started?
My fitness journey started almost a year ago when I started on an exercise program at Wellness Works. Exercise alone had helped me to drop about 20 pounds before this challenge started.

How will you continue your success and have you set any long-term goals?
I will continue to go to the gym as many nights as possible after work and if I can’t make it, I’ll be walking on the treadmill at home. While I still have quite a ways to go, I’d rather focus on making healthy choices and increasing the activity level which will eventually get me down to a healthier weight.
